The Driver's License Examiner is located on the first floor of the Furnas County Courthouse. They are here every other Monday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM with lunch from 12:00 to 1:00. Please click here to see the examiner's entire 2016 schedule.
The County Court can be found on the 2nd floor across the hall from the Treasurer's office. If the court office is closed, either slide your filings under the door or leave them with the Office Manager of the Sheriff's Office on the first floor. If you need to speak with court personnel, please call Red Willow County Court at 308-345-1904.

The Furnas County Sheriff's office handles all civil process for the county. There is a fee for service. As per State Statute 33-117, sheriff's fees can be found here:

VIN inspections are required if the vehicle has an out of state title. These inspections consist of inspection of the VIN plate, manufacturer's federal sticker, odometer reading, and other pertinent documentation. Inspections can be completed at the Sheriff's office. Bring your vehicle and the vehicle's title to the sheriff's office, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and one of our staff will assist you. The cost of a VIN inspection is $10 payable by cash/check. Unfortunately, we do not accept credit/debit cards.
Gun Purchase/Transfer Permits are available for purchase. In order to purchase a gun permit, you must be 21 years of age, and a current Furnas County resident. Cost of a gun permit is $5 payable by cash or check. Once the investigation is complete, your permit will be mailed directly to you.
To obtain a Concealed Carry Permit, you must contact the Nebraska State Patrol.
